Spreadsheets are one of the most prolific software tools used in calibration and test laboratories. From simple math computations and to sophisticated data curve fitting, spreadsheets are typically the de facto tool of choice for many data manipulations and data recording laboratory tasks. One of the challenges in using spreadsheets, aside from keeping them updated to the latest revision and preventing their unauthorized use under the umbrella of document control, is documented evidence that they are acceptable for the applications they are being used in.
