French calibration specialist Trescal SA said Monday that it had acquired Dynamic Technology Inc. in order to gain a foothold in the North American market.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Detroit-based DTI has laboratory locations in five U.S. cities, including Houston and Dallas. Founded in 1987, DTI primarily provides calibration services for the auto industry.
Trescal, which operates 55 European labs, was acquired in September by a pair of private equity investors, London-based 3i Group PLC and Paris-based TCR Capital Partners SAS.
Trescal CEO Olivier Delrieu said in a statement that the acquisition would allow the company to penetrate the U.S. market, which he said was in the midst of consolidation.
