Dr. Peter Hydemann, Director of Technology Services at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) stated recently, “The next 25 years will see dramatic changes in international trade patterns. New trade blocks will emerge; economies that now seem strong will falter. Metrology and standards will play an increasing role. We all need extensive training and education, and must study new approaches to provide our industry with the best possible support.”
